Well, well, well. As I knew it would be, last night was EPIC!!! TRIUMPH and APRIL WINE. Two of Canada’s greatest bands. Triumph currently consists of original members Rick Emmett on guitar and vocals and Gil Moore on drums and vocals, along with Phil X on guitar and vocals, Todd Kerns on bass and vocals, and Brent Fitz on drums, keyboards and vocals. There were four lead vocalists! Kind of like the Eagles, haha. Brent is one of my favorite drummers, he also is a killer guitarist and bassist, he plays everything. Everyone had their own solo (minus Gil) in a cover of Joe Walsh’s Rocky Mountain Way. Incredible. Phil is one of my favorite guitarists. An ALL STAR band. I managed to get to our seats for the last three killer songs in April Wine’s set, and that was good enough for me. I thought we were gonna miss their entire set. A HUGE thanks to my buddy Ken, who saved my ass and got us into the venue!!! It was completely sold out. I never saw a show as sold out as this one at Freedom Hill.
