Upstate NY artists??

13 messages · last activity 4/16/2007

I hope im not pissing too many people off by making so many posts but I just found the board last night...too bad really, im learning a whole hell of a lot...great site! Anyway, I have been trying to find an artist around here to put together a leg sleeve for me. I know what it is that I want but my artisic skills are certainly lacking. I actually found something really close on Anil Gupta's site to a piece of what I want...so I was thinking about giving him a call. Then I came across All Star Tattoo's site and like their work...which is considerably closer to me. I want (as close as I can afford to) the best, but I also dont want to have to travel too far. I am about a half hour north of Albany in NY...about 3 hours to NYC and Boston to give an idea of where I'm at. Any suggestions? Any experiences with All Star? Thanks
Anil is very talented, and also very expensive..i beleive he charges like 250.00 an hr. Don Demer's@Full Effect Tattoo,in Troy..518.328-0077 is real good.. check out.. myspace.com/fulleffecttattoo www.albanytattoo.com Mike [email removed] does nice work too..
There are some talented folks from larks treet tattoo putting out some good work. Check them out and get a burrito from bombers while your at it :-) They are awesome. Hope this helps... http://www.larktattoo.com/
There are a couple good places in Syracuse. Check out http://www.scarabbodyarts.com/tattoos/ I would recomend Jeremiah Andhttp://www.halotattoo.com I have had work done at Scarab but I hear Halo is very good also.
I would be neglecting my artists to not mention our studio OffTheMapTattoo.com where many of the TattooNOW artists do guest spots. Ant who owns All Star Body Art is also a client of ours, if you talk to him tell em I say hello and to upload, they havnt in a bit!
Hey there! I am originally from Queensbury, NY [about 20 miles north] and I would just recommend you do the 2 hour drive to Off The Map. Some of the best work in the world and its practically at your doorstep. GO!!!!
Gabe, would you please email me. i have questions about how your shop works. i am looking at the visiting artist pages now and want to know more about how to book an apt, cost, etc...link of my name works for my email... ryan
remember a tattoo is forever and worth traveling. you should pin point the artist my what kind of tattoo you want then finding an artist that would be best for that project. Matt
All the guys at Off the Map Tattoo (www.offthemaptattoo.com) are really good, and they get some great guests. Carson Hill will be back there in February and is fantastic. I'm glad to hear Full Effect is good, I was just looking for information on them...
