I'm writing this brief post to help inform everyone about a product i recently purchased. Just so we are clear I've done this because i truely believe in the quality of this software not because im trying to sell it for any sort of gain,(nor will i recieve any should you chose to buy it), but i because i think all of my fellow shop owners will benefit from it. Tattoo Management Studio (www.rev23.com) by rev23 Development is the only Tattoo Industry Specific software i have ever come across. The inventory system alone is good enough reason to check it out.
It has prebuilt categories and wizards to get you through inventorying anything from disposable tubes to needles to jewelry and so on.
It integrates with google calender so you can check, change, move or do anything with your appointments from anywhere. For all you droid users like myself this is fantastic. the calender built into your phone already integrates and you can automatically with the system build a new calender if you don't want to use your everyday one. gives you the specifics of your appointment as well (ie- name, phone number, description....)
It will house all of your customers in a database as well as thier id, information, alergies, services, and so on. Also it will compile them into a mailing list if your in to that sort of thing.
It will automatically send them a text message reminder of any appointment that they have scheduled.
it will never mention the words, spa, hair dye, Nails or any of that other stuff that you don't care about
On the business end it will give you graphs, kpi reports, sales tax reports, and about any other report you may want. and for you non business minded shop owners it may clue you in to some things that you weren't thinking about that maybe you ought to.
it will keep track of every single thing that you could possibly want to track in a tattoo studio. Right down to the amount of hours your guys are actually spending doing tattoos if you do it correctly.
It has a credit card processing option that you can choose to sign up for and makes the ability to process credit cards so much more simple than running it through a normal machine. They work with Leslie Roth from North American Bancard( some of you probaby already use her for credit cards being that she only deals with the tattoo industry)
It has multiple studio integration and about a thousand more things that you can call or email or whatever to find out.
All that being said know that there is a bit of a learning curve with this software as there is with anything. Took me a little bit to get my head wrapped around it but once i did....maybe one of the best decisions i have ever made. The customer service is fantastic and Nate and the guys(and girls) over there at Rev 23 are always happy to hear my feedback. In fact several different things have been added or changed due to my feedback. All in all a great product and finally someone desgined something specifically for us.
Check it out rev23.com. They do a free web demo where he walks you through all of it. I promise it will not waste your time.
If you have any questions and you want them answered from a shop owner perspective, Shoot me an email or whatever. be happy to tell you all about it.

Tired of Salon/Tattoo Software?Check this out!

I read this post and personally thought "great another schedule/appoint maker program" and decided what the hell-maybe it was worth checking out. I went to the website and signed up for a free demo ( I am currently opening up a studio and thought it would be a good thing just to look at) and WOW!
Now I have worked with other programs that are more towards the "salon type" of business-which many software people who make this type of program up will slap a "tattoo" enviroment on it and charge a CRAZY dollar amount for a program that is NOT EVEN in the same field for tattoo artists, so when I spoke to Nate from this company I was floored...he actually UNDERSTANDS and WORKS in our field...I was impressed.
I spent a total of 1 hour on the phone during my demo lesson and I got to tell you that not only is this program seriously KICK ASS but I can't believe the incredible details they have included into it! Now if you are not computer savvy it may take some time-but seriously it is WORTH IT and I am already signing up for the program. My main concern was tracking inventory as my studio will provide everything for the artists, which this program does-and it even tells you when inventory is low--oh and get this BUILT IN catalogs of the biggest suppliers (like my personal fav Tommy's) so it makes it idiot proof.
I normally do not go on the boards and talk about any "products" or want to sound like a sales rep- but if you really are serious about bringing yoru business to the next level of professionalism this is a great way to start. I personally am a nay sayer on anything and I am a hard person to sell anything to, but I am telling you this software ROCKS! Just wanted to thank the previous poster for the great info and I am really excited about incorporating this into my own business!
Thanks for the compliments Matt and Jeanne.
I'm proud of the quality that is put into Tattoo Management Studio and the effort that goes into making it the best product available for the tattoo industry.
The inventory system really is unmatched by competitors, (as well as several other aspects of the software) because Tattoo Management Studio doesn't have to fit and mold into other business models like salons, spas, dog grooming, etc. The supplier partnerships and support we've got from Intenze, Tommy's, Eternal, H2Ocean has been amazing and what's in store this year with them is really going to kick the industry's ass. In a good way of course.
Everyone that uses Tattoo Management Studio loves it and it is quickly becoming the defacto tattoo studio management software because it has such great users who are passionate about what the software is trying to accomplish, which is taking the industry and your business to the next level.
For example, KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) tell the story like it is, with no BS, in plain green and red if you're doing better, or you're doing worse than previous weeks, months, years, etc... or how well a particular advertisement/promotion is working out for your shop.
The Google Calendar Integration is a great step forward, too. So many artists already used it, it was important for that data to be available to everyone to prevent double booking and not totally tying you down to just one system.
Tattoo Management Studio never stops evolving and there is a new release generally every 3-6 weeks or so with new features.
Also coming soon, you'll start seeing a larger presence at conventions with a partnership with The Gypsy Queens.
I'm about to start advertising here on TattooNOW in a joint effort with Leslie (www.nabink.com) but in the meantime, I'd like to throw out there that currently the Winter Sale prices are still in effect while everyone is still recovering from the horrors of December (there are very inexpensive payment plans, too). So it's a great time to get started right before the busy season really kicks off, and start getting a better understanding of your business.
Thanks again guys.
