even though this wasnt posted for me. its a public forum so ill reply.
id look into a couple things.
a ruler
a circle template.
and a lightbox.
symmetrical objects are a bitch but you have to be anal about it. because its crucial. im guessing its a tattoo design, these objects are usually put on an area of the body where each side lies on one half of the body evenly. such the center of a back. Things like that can throw weight off.
and the color concept is repetetive, so much brown on the skin would look mushy, especially after 10+ years.
Listen to Vish...there are some good ideas in his post...as far as your design it could be a good one ...you need to pay attention to detail....all lines should be straight and consistant...I know you are only 15 but at this point you should work on every drawing as if it were the last one you will ever do!!
Be a perfectionist!!!...You are doing great for your age...just time to step it up a notch pal!!...I for one am proud of you and I know you are gonna do this drawing again and impress us!!!...TAz
It was meant for me either, but I have a question. What the cross meant to be wooden? If so you might consider a lighter brown or even natural depending on the skin tone of the recipient. Then add the grain lines to it, but I like the style and your human form figures are getting better.
well thankes for the comment, it seems that it would be hard to put alot of detail in that little of a face or I would have

No Ryan I didn't mean put more detail IN I meant pay attention to the details...big difference there pal!!!
what do you mean
Do your best to make everything as perfect as you can!
Ryan,
TAz means pay attention to EVERYTHING. Make sure your lines are crisp and straight. Double and triple check your symmetry. Don't be afraid to play around with different color schemes to make the design really stand out. If you want to get super crazy, do a little research on complimentary, analogous and monochromatic color schemes. You'd be amazed at some of the effects that colors can create when placed next to other colors. You are definitely on the right track. You're showing some great improvement compared to what you first started showing us!! I'll look through some of my stuff and try to scan some info for ya, if you want. Overall, I like your design. Try to make the cross a bit more realistic. Everyone has put in some good suggestions for you so far. Make sure you take and consider them (which I know you will.. otherwise you never woulda asked.) Work on your 'realism' a bit too. Find pictures of wings and study body forms. They'll help you in the long run. And yes, your body shapes are already looking a lot better. That's my advice for now. :o)
Nice work so far, squirt!
;o)

I know it sounds really anal, but measure everything. If I'm doing work that requires symmetry, I measure EVERYTHING; sides, angles, lengths, widths, etc.
Something else that helps lines/symmetry is grid paper. It's great to sketch out on, then when you've finished the sketch, you can trace it to a nice piece of paper. The lines serve as a nice guide.
Another idea, in order to help you make things that are supposed to be rounded even better: get a calligraphy book. Practice the exercises. It sounds silly, but it seriously helps build up your muscle memory to create elegant and perfect rounded edges.
Other than that, the idea/concept of the drawing is beautiful. I'd like to see some more shading... it's a bit flat. However, for 15, you're frickin excellant.
Theval, if you are not an artist, you should be... that's good advice.
I am, actually. I'm just not that great. :o)
hey taz I re-drew that drawing of mine tell me what you think of it
