Anyone use this stuff? Looks easier to use than saran wrap. And if you tend to break out with most creams, and oitments, might be a good alternative. Or is it just another gimickey product?
TATU DERM Anyone use it?

I have used it personally one healing and did love it. I will try it out again for sure. I was watching people saran wrap tattoos last weekend at a convention, and think tatu-derm is a much better option. Its a new product, so Id like to use it more nd hear more experiances, but have hopes for it. definitely worth trying in my opinion.
Is $20 a little pricey for how much you tend to use? It would seem to me that if you take it off, clean the tattoo, and put more on, do that 3 times and if its a good size tattoo I would imagine that you could run through a $20 roll in 1 or two tattoos. If it works that much better than a cream, it might be worth it. I can't see myself using saran on a big area.
I have plenty of tattoos- and just got a new one on my wrist yesterday.
It is wrapped in TATU DERM and I am LOVING it. It is designed to be left on for 4 days straight. I am a hair stylist and it keeps all the little hairs and germs off my fresh ink. Also, this tattoo does not feel raw and itchy at all. I never want to get a tattoo without it again!!!
Gabe,
You use it for the entire healing process? Did you get any scabbing at all? Did you change it out often?
Thinking about healing my next tattoo with it.
I USE ON MYSELF AND MY CLIENTS. FOR MOST CLIENTS I TELL THEM TO TAKE IT OFF AFTER ABOUT 24 HOURS AND DO THE NORMAL OINTMENT/LOTION REGIMEN. FOR HARDER HEALING CLIENTS I REAPPLY A NEW TATU-DERM AFTER 24 HOURS AND MAKE THEM WEAR IT FOR A WEEK. I'VE TRIED THE FULL WEEK METHOD ON MYSELF TWICE AND IT WORKS GREAT.
I did use it for the whole heal. I would change it out every time there is plasma buildup underneath (change first morning, and first afternoon...). I had no scabs or anything, iit was a real comfortable heal, save for the changing of the wrap which is a tad sensitive.
Has anyone heard of Tegaderm - a 3M product used by hospitals for the last 15 years or so.
I am curious if or how they got 3M to private label their product - or if 3M is aware that they are repacking their product.
I couldn't find any real info on the company Tatu Derm. Tega Derm is cheaper and is sold in most pharmacies.
I have e-mailed Tatu Derm but have yet to get a response on the actual product that they are selling, i.e. are they repackaging Terga Derm?

haa ur right it is 3M`s Tegaderm its exactly the same.. And Yeah easily available at ur nearest pharmacy.
Seems to be just another Marketing Scheme..
I used tatuderm for 4 days, changed the wrap each day and had an allergic reaction...it's been 3 weeks since I removed it and my skin is dry, scaley and discolored....itched like crazy for weeks. I keep applying cream to moisten it but my skin looks like a 50year olds skin in that area. Maybe I'm allergic to the adhesive...just beware
I have been using this product for about 6 months now on my leg sleeve. for the most part i am happy with the results it does seem to help the tattoo heal and look crisp for the colors.
The only down side since i am in the chair four to six hours a week working on my leg i have my leg covered with tatu-derm and that has cause rashies to break out and i have had small blisters pop up in the area that is covered. I can stop using it for a few weeks the rash goes a way the blistering heals and i am good for 3 more weeks.
in short if you are getting tattooed with a area that is not going to be worked on a lot it is great.
I have used tataderm for 3 pieces now. I have not experience any of the skin reaction issues others have mentioned. The product has been amazing. I cant imagine ever getting another tattoo without it. If you do not have any skin reaction issues the initial piece can be left on for 4-5 days. It doesnt need to be replace after 24 hours like other have suggested. My only issue is that it tends to fray at the edges and will fall off if I dont use medical tape to hold it down. After 3-4 days I usually take it off. clean the piece and apply some moisturizer for the next few days. After that I usually end up with some slight skin peeling like you would see from a sun burn. Thats it. No scabbing and no need to constantly clean and moisturize the piece.
After the full healing process the tat looks awesome. no loss of color, no touch up needed
