Just wanted to respond to the artist search. My parents live in Redding, and I am moving back up there in about a month. I have been a professional tattoo artist and piercer for 10 yrs.after a 1yr. apprenticeship in the southern cal. area and have always worked to personalize even the smallest flash on the wall or books for my clients and prefer the opportunity to design more personal custom peices. I have several loyal customers, some of whom started as my guinee pigs. I can thankfully say I am one of the few chicks who came into the business when there were very few, has worked hard, earned friends and respect, without being considered a bitchy dyke with a chip on her shoulder and always remained one of the guys... plus breasts... (actually, I am probably worse than most guys!) but anyway..... As a piercer, I am no stranger to the more "private" piercings and do not have any issues about doing them. I'm not a tattoo artist by any means. However, I am an artist looking to provide artwork for anyone interested in putting my talent to use. I am currently in the process of putting together a portfolio, so I'm not in the market just yet. My question is, would you be interested in purchasing art for use in your shop, or do you like to use only your, and your employed artist's work? Since it is the part of the market I am currently exploiting, most of my artwork is native american in nature, but I am more than capable of providing images in other subjects with no problems. Anyway, I live here in Redding, CA. so that isn't a problem. I have just been curious about it for quite sometime and thought maybe I would hit ya up and see what you got going. Scratchers, people who do scag as* tattoos, usually out of there basement with a homeade machine or a crappy tattoo kit out of the back of a magazine. I am looking for an apprenticeship opening, I have a extensive and orginal portfolio, I work hard, even considered a work slave, I will be your bitch as long as I can learn to use the gun. I will do what ever it takes to have the doors opened so I can begin tattooing. IF there is anyone out there with an opening or know of one, please help me, Im on my hands and knees, seeking to start tattoing.
