Swollen ankle

On Saturday the 28th I got my first ever tattoo, it's placed on my inner ankle and is around 2inches long and 1 inch wide. It was fine until Monday the 30th ( 2days after) when it started to get a little red around the outline. That same day we left the country on a 12hour flight, my ankle started to hurt and my foot became very swollen and sore to walk on, but I continued to walk through the airport to catch my next flight. The next flight was only a couple of hours long but my foot was extremely sore to walk on. I applied the cream that my tattoo artist suggested. Over these last few days ( now the 3rd) I have done a lot of walking/sight seeing, the swelling has gone done a little bit but is still big and sore when pressed. My tattoo doesn't hurt but it appears to be bruised around the sides. What do I do?!?!? I'm freaking out!!!
