Hi,
I was wondering if I could get any advice on starting a 1/2 sleeve? I want to start with an old school Virgin Mary, but not sure about where should i start it and end it?
Should it wrap or put something else on the inside of the arm? I don;t just want it to look like one arm tattoo (does that make sense?). I've had a few tattoos done over the [ast few years, but took a break while pregnant, etc..Now I'm ready to start again.
I've read the "annoying people" thread and I'm trying to follow the advice.
Thanks!

p.s. I should add I'm meeting with a tatoo artists today to bring out some ideas and look and talk about scheduling, etc....I'm sure he can help with ideas, but I don;t want to be a big geek or have too many questions?
Hey mamacat...There are no stupid questions!! (well....LOL!!)
Seriously no professional artist is gonna mind helping you get what you want.I sometimes spend hours with potential customers until I am satisfied that I know exactly what They want and how I can satisfy them. THATS OUR JOB!!!! Don't settle for anything less than exactly what YOU want but at the same time listen to your artist....if you or youe artist has any reservations or doubts...DO NOT GO ANY FURTHER...there is no margin for error here!!!
BE PICKY!!!!BE PICKY!!!! BE PICKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If your artist seems impatient to getcha in the chair RUN don't walk, RUN out the door! Thanks for your lucid and intelligent question....TAz
What artist(s) are you seeing? How did it go?
well, my babysitter fell through and I don't dare bring the lil kidlet (age 2.5) for fear of her being, well, a two year old! PLUS, I would not be able to hold a decent conversation with artist. I'm thinking of Spotlight tattoo in Los Angeles (where I live).
Although, I'm open to any referrals? I'm looking for an old school Virgin Mary to start off my sleeve. I can email you the link to the artist I'm thinking about? Trying, I say, trying, lol to do my homework. I met one tattoo artist (a woman) last week and she was just, I don;t know, kinda rude and not very helpful. Almost as if I was annoying her even though I called and asked a good time to come in to run a few ideas by her.
Anyway, one of my friend's mentioned that all tattoo artist "act" tough and have "attitude" which I don;t agree with. I already have a few large tats done over the past
ten years and I did not feel the artists had "tudes" or it would have been acceptable.
Anyway, I drone on....I'll stop now.
As I said sooo many times before...if you get treated badly.........
..........GO SOMEWHERE THAT APPRECIATES YOUR BIZ!!!
I refuse to give my business to anyone who is rude or disinterested in me and my biz PERIOD!!!! If you are in L.A. dear you have sooo many choices of excellent artists...I encourage ya to see as many as possible before deciding.Sorry I have too many close friends there to recommend any certain shop or artist...maybe Gabe and Krystof can help!
