Sexy or trashy?

On June 30th, I posted asking for ideas for a tattoo to incorporate my childrens' names. Well, I have FINALLY seen my vision out of my head and on paper! But now I'm struggling with a placement issue. The tat is going to be about 6 inches long (top to botom) and 2.5 inches wide at it's thickest point. It is the Celtic heart representing motherhood (two heart knoted, representing the love and protection a mother has for a child) and it will be entwined in an ivy vine w/ baby' breath flowers and two large leaves will have their names on them. I would either like it starting at the base of my neck and going 6 inches down my spine, or running the length of the bottom of my left leg (right above my ankle and up toward my knee). Which spot would look best? Do you find it sexy or trashy for women to have such a size tattoo below the neck on her back, or would it look more appropriate on the leg? Thanx again for ANY opinions! And if you can envision the tat I'm describing and have a better idea to alter it, please share!

Begin by asking yourself what thoughts go through your mind when you see other women with tats in these particular locations. As a guy, I find tattoos on certain areas of a womens body erotic, and other areas trashy. The most attractive areas to me are the ankle, the hip, and the lower back. Maybe you have a stencil of the piece applied in several locations, the answer may become obvious when you see how it looks. TCE

Honestly, to me, the quality of the design and the artist doing the work has a LOT more to do with if a tattoo looks trashy than placement.

I would have to agree with Gabe... placement isn't nearly as much of an issue when compared to quality. Both spots you've mentionned seems to work well with the design... personally I think it may flow better on the leg though. Also if you're thinking of future tattoos (large ones anyway), legs are more limitted since they'er narrow and vertical... I've had my artist veto 2 designs I wanted for my leg because of the verticalness (is that a word?) I would have had to sacrifice too much of the "extras" to get them to fit and flow properly. Wow, I just re-read that and it`s a little confusing, I hope you guys can make sense of it haha

Gabe and Jay are on the money!!...If the work is good the area is strictly personal preference...and you shouldn't be worried about other peoples opinion...its YOUR BODY AND YOUR SKIN AND YOUR TATTOO!!!!!!!

sounds beautiful. I always love balance. Down your spine sounds nice, You could always build nicely to the left and right of it later.

One thing is for certain, you will spend more time than anyone looking at and critiquing your tattoo than anyone else, so it's important to do what pleases you. Most other's observations are going to be fleeting glances. TCE

Any woman who is getting a tattoo to honor her kids is sexy as hell in my book, and I don't think it matters where you put it, something like this could never be trashy. Though honestly? I think both spots sound hot. YOU will get more viewing pleasure out of it if you put it on your leg though, if that's a consideration...

Erm, sorry, but why would you want a picture symbolizing the love for your kids to look... Sexy? Like, beautiful or even glamorous, sure... But, I don't know, sounds a little creepy with the way your putting it. Lol.

It's the placement of the tattoo, not the tattoo itself as far as "sexy" goes.... Plus Al is a freak....*lol*. Gotta love the women folk!

Yeah, god help me, I do love the women folk.... against my better judgement, and I swear to fuck it will be the death of me, but I do love the ladies. And a tattoo can make a woman look sexy, and then you find out later it's about the kids. Nothing wrong with that.
