self taught pics

how come 99% of the self taught tattoo artists knock apprenticeships and say they are a waste of time and profess your "mad tattoo skillz" but when asked to produce some portfolio pics or pics of their work they flake and you never see them on the thread again? Ive been tattooing for 10 years and had a bad 1st aprenticeship but the second shop i worked at was a badass experience for me...i will profess that a proper tattoo apprenticeship is far better than being self taught...without guidance your self taught ass will be stuck on a neverending tapered skill level...say what you want but untill you can explain needle grouping choices and explain how to tune and maintain a tattoo machine then shut the fuck up and watch and learn ...how?...do what all of the people on here tell you to do and get a shop apprenticeship...why? ...because how else will you become a better salesman and proffesional....its called higher learning...as far as monetary ...i have never charged anyone to apprentice them...i am picky on who i do apprentice and would never ask them to do anything in thier apprenticship that i dont do on daily basis myself(reasons are simple..my time and effort are going to be devoted now to teaching...why would i teach someone who has a bad attitude or cant draw...you are a potential return...a investment of sorts...why would i waste my time with a possible bad investment? i want my investment to want to stay and work for me ..plain and simple) some might take that as being a asshole...i say its me protecting my buisness ...thats how i make money and can afford to live...why would i or anyone else risk that? draw draw draw...then draw some more and come see me...if you are serious about wanting to learn to tattoo email me and i will provide you with the information you need and tools and equipment (not tattoo machines or needles) like types of pencils, pens, lightboxes...etc...etc....so you can have maybe a head start on a apprenticeship and maybe impress a local artist you want to apprentice with...and i can provide all the pics you want to prove my work...lol
