No matter how talented you are as an artist, if your attitude sucks your tattoo's suck. When I look for a tattoo artist, not only do I look for someone who does great work, but I look for an artist with a positive attitude and is excited about the tattoo he or she is about to do. Kat has a shitty attitude. She wines she moans, she complains and it is not only a turn off but it takes away from her credability. When she told Paul Sr. from orange county choppers that the tattoo's that him and his wife wanted were too juvenile for her I almost shit! She should be grateful they seeked HER out, out of everyone in the world, to do their tattoo's. Here's my point...I don't care if you are the fucking sailor jerry of tattooing, if your attitude sucks so do your tattoo's! Kat's work is awesome but her attitude is crap, she forget's that these people picked HER to put something on THEIR body's that they will take to the grave with them...that's a fucking honor, an HONOR! Kat Von D, your attitude sucks, and it's a shame such a talent was wasted on such an ungrateful person like yourself.

Abel, I think a lot of people DO juge a book by its cover and they only see the good stuff about Kat on the damn show. They put her on a pedastle and refuse to listen when someone who knows firsthand and says anything negative about her. They then get all crazy cause you are attacking their hero. We all know that Kat does some great art and sometimes beyond great work. That doesn't mean she can't be a royal bitch. I don't know her well enough to make ANY judgement about the girl but when so many people I DO know and trust tell me how rude and snobbish she usually is then I have to at least consider that they may be right, just common sense there people. And she HAS been shown to be a complete bitch on the show, look how she treated the people from the Motorcycle show, she was just rude, no two ways about it. She insulted them ON THE AIR!!!! IN HER OWN WORDS she made those people who respected her feel like shit, no excuse for it. She could have easily declined thier tattoos without demeaning and denigrating them.

Bonnero, thank you. You are the only person to see my point. I can have my own resevations about her and others may not (althouth many who have met her see it the same way as I do). The reason I post anything about her is because I hate seeing people blindly thinking someone is the greatest thing in the universe when they truly are garbage on the inside, just because they are on t.v.. Most of her biggest fans would be crushed if they saw how she treats others on a regular basis. When I say others I mean other tattoo artists mainly, and customers as well. Well I gotta get to work...I'll be back on my next break.

If an artist can make a tattoo look like a photograph that someone will wear forever, who gives a shit that they had a bad day and their attitude sucked? I'm not some little boy groupy who loves Kat's looks (but I do) nor am I impressed because she has a TV show, I just see what I think is probably the best tattoo artist I've ever seen. At this point of her career tattooing is on a second pane. She is now a celebrity, she can drive drunk, go to rehab, tattoo with no gloves that people will keep consuming her product (and I dont mean tattoos). ive read these post and the people defending her..its 2010 and guess what she's still a bitch..all the artist that stated high voltage with her have left..even her friend pixie..cory miller was treated like a lame by her and he gave up alot to help her..put his shop and family on hold to help her and she craped in his face..and he blows her away...i think all this show and celebrity status has gone to her head..look @ how she was fired at Miami ink..then look @ how she treated cory miller!and the thing is there is better tattoo artist out there that are not famous!!i used to think she had a nice body..till i seen her on miami ink in a bikini..lol,she looked like pizza dough tied in kite string..no muscle tone..so kat von douche needs to pick up some weights and lose some fat in that head of hers!!

despite this topic being old and the OP contradicting himself and being illogical, i just wanted to say: having a crappy personality does not make your artwork crappy, it just means you have a crappy personality (in the eye of the judging beholder, lol) there's no correlation between the perceived faults in an artist's personality and the quality of their artwork

I do beleive that kats work is very good and im not dissing that, she obsoiusly has talent. But i did see that epposode when she went to OCC and what and how she said it was rude and uproffecional. On a few epposodes after ami from miami ink came to do the tattoo instead and even said to paul senior that shes "nothing but a gobby punk" She was only on miami ink for a couple of months and then was fired because she was limmited to the type of tattoos she would do and was rude to customers. She then created her own show LA ink. she asked corby after asking some people from miami ink to work for her, but they all said no. On the program she seems nice, but of set shes bosy and always wants her own way. Both hannah and kim left LA ink and now have a whole new crew. Corey also left for a while because kat woulnet let him have enough time with this kids. Anyone thats says kats a nice preson are only basing on what theyve seen from her show. and though none of us have met her in person, its pretty obvious that by her attidtude no one would want to meet her anyway.

The fact that Kat Von D is so famous and up herself is beyond me because I don't even rate her as a tattooist. Why the hell is she always voted no 1 in polls of best tattooists? I have seen MANY, WAY better portrait artists than her who don't charge anywhere NEAR what she charges and don't have the celebrity nor status that she does. I for one can't stand this ugly b%^ch and before anyone calls me a hater, I LOVE many artists and respect the industry, this is part of the reason I hate 'artists' like her, Ami James and Chris Nunez. Over-rated trio of wannabes. Jeff Gogue, Dimitri Samohin and Den Yakovlev (despite his personal affiliations) are by far some of the top artists of today, and they charge about a third of what these 'tv tattooists' charge.
