I was wondering, for any of those who know what I'm talking about... If it would be good to get an ICP tattoo. Yes, I know "Band Tats = Bad" for some, but ICP's stuff is more than most, or at least to the true listeners... It's more of a way of life... Thus, Juggalos and Juggalettes. It's really no different than getting a cross to say your religious, or anything like that. It's a symbol of how you act and what you are. Idk, just thought I'd ask. I still have time to think of these things, but I'm considering it heavily.

when i am deciding on weather or not to get a tattoo and what to get, i ask myself 2 questions, i know not everyone is like me. 1. does this reprisent something about me that is NEVER going to change. 2. how will it look on me in 30 years. if you are cool with the answers to those question then go for it. but remember, never going to change means NEVER going to change.

Ack! *hides* Sorry bout that. It's just I live in an entire household full of Psychopathic listeners, and I have to say I can't stand it. There's a handful of songs I like, that's about it. My BIL, who goes to The Gathering every year, has two Psychopathic-inspired tatts. He digs em, so to each their own I guess. Instead of getting something so recognizable as a band tattoo, I'd go this route: pick out a lyric that REALLY means something to you, that really hits a nerve... for me, it'd be "Tear Jerker"... and manifest that lyric into an image to tattoo.

See now those are reasonable options... I like the idea of taking song lyrics and tying them into a tattoo... But flat out getting a tattoo of some corporate logo is stupid. I guess it's just me but I couldn't ever see myself getting something that is directly connected to a band, let alone something that is as rediculous as icp. As far as juggalo lifestyle I think that is fucking stupid... How is it a lifestyle? I mean, call me fucking crazy but what music you're into really doesn't classify you into any specific category unless you're still in highschool... Meanwhile these so called "juggalos" probably talk shit about emo kids, metal heads, goths, ect ect... It's all a big identity crisis. It is a trend pop fashion statement. I primarily listen to metal and rock. I also listen to music from the classical era, romantic era, even 60s,70s.. ect ect... But this doesn't dictate how I look... I'm a tattooist and a metalhead all the way but half the time or more I look like some kind of pac sun skater kid. It's like with the white kids who primarily listen to rap and grew up in the suburbs talking as if they were raised in the projects. You're from a blue collar middle class white family... I used to like ICP. Back when I was like 14 or 15. But they were still pretty underground then. Back before J cut all his dreads off. Back when the song 'The Smog' was recognizable. I remember hearing about Kid Rock (well before he came up) on one of their CDs. I used to sit on Jump Steady's shoulders at the concerts so that I could see (i'm kinda short). I have sat backstage with them. Would I ever get a tattoo representing the band? Not a chance. I grew up. I think the lyrics are ridiculous now. Still kind of funny, but overall ridiculous. They talk about tolerance and being accepted? No, they talk about cutting up chickens, banging dead chicks, hating on rednecks and stating that they like women to be super-sluts that bang them and all their friends. I haven't heard anything new by them in years, so I cannot intelligently comment on if the lyrics have changed dramatically over the years. I can only assume that they have stayed the same. The majority (*read NOT ALL* ) of people that listen to them now have seriously questionable people skills, and are taking lyrics literally. They are into gangs, crime, beating people up and being assholes to women. The girls (once again, NOT ALL) think that to be down, they have to let guys do whatever they want to them. Yes, it's funny to listen to everynow and then, but to consider it a way of life is not exactly a good thing. My final caveat: I am not saying that ALL people that listen to ICP are abhorrid human beings. I'm just saying that the 'new school' crop that has made them big has basically ruined something that was fun and different. But with all things that come out for people to enjoy, there is always a group of assholes that will ruin it.

Sorry Theval...In my opinion ANYONE who takes ICP seriously or as even having a message is the person lacking social skills... I have had a few conversations with Shaggy and in his words...he sometimes can't believe that anyone would take what is meant as satire and raw humor as a "message" The problem I see with most, not all, but most adults when they "grow up" is that they overanalyze and take things way too seriously....think about lightening up!

Taz, that's just my opinion of them. I don't care for the music they make, or the majority of their fans here in Buffalo. They're just not my style. But, you have to figure, to an outsider who doesn't know who they are, that's a basic idea. It goes a lot deeper with their fans, as does any musical artist. Just sayin. icp and juggalos are 2 diferent things the members of icp are juggalos. a juggalo is someone who is there for there family.we are drewn together but the music manny of us have gone through simular things in our lives and the music is what helped us find each other.and now we have someone to help us deal with the shit we went though. i myself had no one when i was going thought my tough times untill i found the juggalos. and i thanx them everyday for being there for me. right now i have one tattoo that i designed myself in memory of my older brother who dided two years ago and guess who was there for me when i was going thought that...juggalos. anyway i'm going to get a wicked clown tattoo for my birthday in 3 weeks. it's not an icp design it's an original but it's one whay i can say thanx to my juggalo family and thats something that will never change long after icp is gone i'm still gonna have love for the juggalos. i love all juggalos and again thanx.

Ok so I totally agree, this topic was started for someone who was debating getting a tattoo or not and everyone that thinks ICP sucks so much just jumped on the band wagon. Now, let me just say, we are all not stupid for listening to ICP and being "down", let alone getting a tattoo with something that represents them. They get a bad rap for lyrics about killing people and other horrid things but they're just lyrics. Other rappers write worse, yet I don't see a quarter as many posts bashing them. But whatever, think what you want, you ARE entitled to your own opinions so I can't fathom why people who constantly bash them get pissed when those of us who enjoy them retaliate. You called us out first, calling us stupid and sluts(by the way, thanks thats real cute.) and then expect us to just sit back and take it. Nice way of thinking people, that ones going to get you far in life. *rant over* BUT, back to the topic at hand. I totally think you should go for a tattoo, just make sure its something that means something to you and isn't extremely commercial because it's just going to cheapen it. ok first of all i want to say that just because one is a juggalo ro jugglette does not make then stupid or fat or anything like that. i am a Juggalette and I went to college. I have been a paramedic and I have money so I am not some broke fat kid. And I am not ugly . But I am an overcomer like all Jugaglo's and juggalettes' are. See when I was 21 I got told i had cancer and I wanted to give up I wanted to be angery at the world. Then a friend had me listen to lets go all the way and other ICP songs and it gave me hope and a way to vent the anger I had with out hurting myself or anyone else. The music was my escape. When I went through chemo therapy I would take my CD player and listen to ICP when i was laying in ICU on a breathing machine I would listen to ICP and when I was so sick I couldn't eat and felt like shit I listened to ICP. Now about the tattoo. I think anyone should get a tattoo. If ICP has touched your life like they have mine then it is an easy question. But really I think being a juggalette or a juggalo is about being who you are about not caring about what others think of you. About caring about your friends like they are family. It's not about who is prettiest or skinniest like a lot of media out there is. Honestly if I ever have kids I would reather have them listen to ICP then some skinny bitch takling about how she is all that or fucking Fergie.. Alright, I just got done reading all the posts that are on this topic and I was just gonna not say anything, but personally, I can't help myself now. I want to start off by talking about some of the topics brought up in this post before I actually get down to my answer to the original question that this forum was supposed to be all about, and I don't care how long ago some of these things were said, I just want to comment, and don't bother trying to respond to me on this subject because I have already forgot what site this was posted on. First off, I want to say that I am yet another one of the people on this forum that listens to ICP (Insane Clown Posse for the guy that felt the need to spell it out...very clever, glad you are ed-u-mah-kated) and have for quite some time. I started listening to them when I was 12 (I am 22 now, not that you care) and I was having some rough times in my life. I was in forster care for a large majority of my life as a child and really didn't have many good things going on in my life. A guy at a group home that I was at was listening to ICP and I asked him what it was, he told me it was "Carnival of Carnage" by ICP and I sat in his room and listened to the entire cd from start to finish. I had him make me a cassette tape of it and I listened to that thing till it was so distorted you couldn't make out the music, but I could still sing the lyrics (wow, the memories). I was constantly told how "horrible" of a kid I was and how there was "no hope" for me. I was violent, angry, rude, and flat out non-compliant. I started listening to the lyrics, coming up with my own understand of it, and what I got from it was that I could have turned out so much worse. I could have been a serial killer, I could have been a necrophiliac, but I wasn't. I was simply an angry kid that felt abandoned by the world. I come to realize that no matter how bad you may be, no matter how ugly you may be (if you look at my myspace, you will see that I'm no Dane Cook), there is always somewhere that everyone fits in. When I listened to ICP, it was when I was pissed off and it would calm me down. When I was sad, the lyrics would make me laugh. The music produced by Psychopathic Records was kinda like my therapy for myself. I know that may sound lame, but thats how i feel about it. Anyway, I later joined the Army (and speakin' of which, that dude that said he is gonna get the soldier tat prayin'...I wish you lived here in Tacoma WA and I saw that tat) and was injured in Iraq. When the doctors were putting my leg back together, I was thinking of the song "Pass Me By" at the end of The Great Melinko CD. It took me 2 years to learn to walk again and I finally got out of the wheelchair and am now 22 and have to walk with a cain for the rest of my life. I also made something of myself, I felt that I had to press on in life, I now am a college student at Tacoma Community College and work for the State of Washington in the Employment Security Department making a rather decent wage if I may say so myself. As far as the people who talk all that trash about ICP, keep talkin', it's cool, your ranting and raving just make them bigger. You don't throw water on an oil fire, it just makes it spread. As far as the juggalos, I'm with ya as far as family, but as family...use spell check, you're makin' us all look bad (MMFCL, no offense intended) As far as the ORIGINAL topic of the post... I say get the tattoo, but first take some things into consideration. First, think about what you wanna do with your life, do you wanna work in a mill for the rest of your life, do you want to work in an office, or do you wanna work at McDonalds being the chief jelly fries maker? I'm not saying that a tattoo is going to stop you from doing what you wanna do, I'm saying consider WHERE you get it! I have a hatchetman tat that spreads from my left shoulder to the middle of my back and from the top of my back to the middle of my back. I have it there so that if I need to come to work in a short sleeve button up shirt, it's not making me look "Unprofessional" (not that I care, but my employer might and I like having my heftly little pay check, especially on the weekends :-) ) another thing to consider, that has previously been stated, is why you want to get it and if you are willing to deal with it and see it for the rest of your life. Sure, get what YOU want but ,as in any lifelong committment , think about it long and hard. I am a Juggalo, I have two juggalo/psychopathic/icp related tattoos, I have a hatchetman on the back off my right arm and the word "Juggalo" tattooed across my neck, the tattoo on the back of my arm I got because I believe in what psychopathic records is trying to promote in their own way. If you listen passed the violence and the "chicken huntin" you will find that the record label as a whole are trying to promote cleaning your act up before its to late, before you meet death and head into the great unknown world of the afterlife. Firstly, I don't listen to the radio or watch MTV, all the music on the radio drives me crazy because the majority of it is absolute marketed garbage. I couldn't possibly have just moved to the city, the had to be a reason I was here, all of this outside a very public area downtown with no less than a hundred people within earshot. I later learned from other juggalos I met that John Q. Law absolutely can't stand jugglaos, that juggalos are listed as a gang, and because a number of the homeless in the city are juggalos, and in Ottawa, they'd rather go through recession, holocaust, and a plague before look at the homeless in their precious, beautiful, town. Being close minded about something is wrong (except maybe racism), judging someone before knowing at least something about them is as well, if you do take the time to be educated on something, even if it is something you didn't think you'd be interested in the first place, you may learn that there are aspects of the topic you do find interesting, and if you don't no one should try to stop you from expressing your opinion about, as long as you opinion is presented in a reasonable manner, you can't just expect to attack a topic offensively and not have the people on the other side of the debate are not going to react defensively, and I'll use juggalos in my example... First of all I am 40 years of age, university educated, and I'd have to say that I have been an ICP fan for some time now, I'd have to say since around the year 2000. I have a wide assortment of tattoos all over my body mostly skulls, flames, and reapers. Across my back at the top you will see in huge calligraphic letters JUGGALO is quite visible. I also have Milenko on my left forearm, a portrait of Violent J & Shaggy on my right forearm amongst that work you can see the a few more wicked clowns and of couse the "tilt-a-whirl". Over the years I have had a few people catch on as to what the clowns symbolise and others I just tell them that it's me.. I am working on a sleeve and a hatchetman is incorporated into the sleeve. The only thing you need to do is think about your choice of tats. It will be there forever so you need to know in your heart that it is the tat that you will want forever. Juggalo's stand together so if you are lucky the guy or lady across the table from you at your next job interview may be a lo or lette.
