doesnt really share any new information. music is too loud, your ears have to fight it to hear im talking, tho as i said, he doesnt really say anything that is any sort of real secret or tip. its the "duh" stuff.
sad to say really. very expensive waste of time.

I couldn't disagree more! I think this guy did a GREAT job period. Hell...his piece on mixing values alone was much more than worth the price of the dvds. I wont go into the many techniques here and other things that those dvds contain but this was a thorough and well designed study on portraiture and HIS techniques of rendering
HEY JOHN!
I saw that you are working in FL! Awesome!!!! Nice to see you here again on the boards, I bet you don't miss the Northeast! LOL!
its just that for me, i've already been a portrait artist for some time now, and high contrast lighting and values aren't news to me i was really hoping for a better way to do things or an awesome tip or great advise on something, but we already go about it the same way. i guess i was more disapointed with the music being so loud you can barely hear him. another thing that bothered me was his excessive waste of supplies/materials. its just showing that he has so much money (given to him by people like me) that he doesnt give two shits about pouring it out all over the place, when most artists would give a flying fuck about the 17 caps of ink he just wasted on that one tattoo
LOL Jeanne. Im LOVING it down here. Looks like I missed a real shitty winter up there. As for the Video....I see 7 Stars point as it pertains to him.
Maybe there was nothging for HIM in the dvd. For those who have NOT been excelling at portraits I still feel this is overal one of the most well made and instructional videos made. Hes has included way beyond what I would have expected and is far from ripping people off with his asking price. WELL worth it. He even extends an offer for buyers of the dvd's to come spend a few days at his shop and watch first hand. I just cant see the comment that the video is not worth the price....Hells....thats only the price of a small tattoo.
What would you pay to attend a seminar? Then have to watch over someones shoulder. With this its one on one so to speak and you can rewatch 100 times as I have.lol
Just my two cents.
i must agree with you that to those who havent been doing portraits for years, it would be hella eye opening and helpful. he is an outstanding tattoo artist, and his methods are as useful as they are understandable, so no discredit there. just keep your remote handy
