yes it is but you really have to take good care of it. and healing times will be longer than normal. yes it can get infected, but it you take care of it you should be OK
we talked about this a couple months ago, if you scroll down you will find the discussion. However, yes there can be serious bad effects for Diabetics, if your Blood sugars are with in the normal range, and are kept in the normal range, you should heal fine. But keep in mind, if you are not in control of your sugars, your body will heal much more slowly, you will be more prone to infection, and you could experiance degenerative tissue breakdown. good luck Mortis
...."If you are fit, and your control is good, then your risks from having a tattoo are the same as for anyone else. These are the risks of infection at the site if the injections, the pain of the procedure, and the problems associated with removal of the tattoo if you get fed up with it; they are permanent and much harder to remove than to have done." ....According to S. William Levy, MD, clinical professor of dermatology at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center: "There's no harm in getting a tattoo as long as you take the necessary precautions.... First of all, make absolutely certain that you go to an accredited tattoo artist. Your State Board of Cosmetology may grant certificates to tattoo artists who fulfill the necessary hygienic measures." Levy warns people with diabetes there are certain places you shouldn't have tattoos, including: 1.places with poor circulation such as ankles 2.lower legs and buttocks, and 3.areas where you take your insulin shots such as the abdomen, arms or thighs. ....J
