Collarbone tattoo

So I've been contemplating getting my first tattoo. I've designed it out in my mind and it involves an arc from my front-left, above the pec, over the collarbone and shoulder to just above the shoulderblade and beside the spine. I have no idea how much physical pain would be involved, but I've been warned that the areas where there's the least amount of fat or muscle (near contact to the bone) are the most painful. I'm a bit concerned with the trouble I'm getting into, but would love some insight from some experienced and newly painted people :D Please let me know. Thanks.

Shameless bump, but I'd really like to know. I'm hoping to start planning this for my 30th at the end of the month..
